Her name is Sally Whitt and she’s the lucky winner of the spot in our Spain workshop next year. Congratulations Sally! Anyone who would like to sign up for the trip and join us, click this direct link to the brochure: http://www.kathiegeorge.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/SpainBrochure20161.pdf.
And now, get to know Sally…
She responded to the announcement of the trip winner about 15 minutes after it was announced!
Hurray! I am so excited…thank you, thank you.
What a blessing this is…I can’t wait to meet you and make new friends and see Spain and the food and everything.
It is hard to express my excitement and thankfulness in an email, but I am so grateful.
Here are some other facts about Sally:
I am thrilled to be the winner of the trip to Spain. Kathie, thank you so much for your generous heart! I have not traveled much, but did get to visit Italy a few years ago, and it gave me a desire to see more of Europe. I love to learn…about art, history, culture, food and wellness, and I love to experience God’s beautiful creation. I also love the feel of pen and paint on paper, and look forward to learning from Kathie and the other artists on this Journey.
I have lived in North Carolina all my life, and worked for many years at a maternity home for pregnant teens. Currently I own a small business, and am a Certified Aromatherapy Coach and Raindrop Practitioner. My husband, Gerry, is a retired Navy Chief. Many years ago, he went to Spain to visit some friends in the Spanish Air Force and had a great time! My son Matt is a heavy equipment mechanic, and my daughter-in-law is a nurse practitioner.
This trip will be a true blessing for me. Like Kathie, I have also experienced breast cancer. There is nothing easy about that struggle, but it certainly teaches you to value every day. And I look forward to 12 days of painting, fun, food, fellowship, and enjoying the great outdoors.
Congratulations Sally. I’m so happy that you will be joining us. This pre-trip time is wonderful, too. We have a few months of dreaming about it, then a couple of months of packing and repacking. Enjoy every minute.
On Saturday I leave to teach my “doing your own Batiks” workshop at the Madeline Island School of the Arts in the Apostle Islands, WI. I’m excited! I love being out on that peaceful island – and a whole week to do nothing but paint batiks? (Oh, and eat those chocolate chip cookies they leave in the classrooms) Wow. I’m really looking forward to it.
I’ll keep in touch so that you can see a bit of the Island, and the wonderful studios at MISA…oh, and perhaps a few tips about batik.
Oh! I almost forgot. A wonderful friend made me something very ‘unusual’ – a hair wig! Can you believe this? It is so warm and cozy. I’m taking it up to MISA, just in case of cool weather. She actually made it for me with her own two hands. That makes it very precious to me! Thank you so much, Donna.
For now, thanks again for reading. And also for all of your comments that keep me laughing and loving you.
