But first the answer to yesterday’s ‘Tale of Two Stories’. Which story is true?
Well, technically the blue bottle story is false because it’s not a SQUARE bottle. But I cheated and used two true stories because I wanted to tell both stories to you. Yes, BOTH actually happened and the proof is below.
Here’s that amazing blue bottle that we photographed.
Look at those cool blue reflections in the shadow. This little guy was photographed so many times and will make a pretty great still life painting. Don’t you wish you had one?
AND NOW, GET READY FOR THE KNIFE WIELDING MAN OF BARCELONA! YIPES…I CANT WATCH…I apologize in advance for the sudden cut off, but that is all of us running at the end.

Let’s put all of those bad memories behind us and move on to LA FINCA DEL NINO., should we?
I didn’t know what to expect when I arrived at La Finca. Driving down the long road to the entry and then up to the wrought iron front gate, slightly open and welcoming. Here you enter a world of a thousand paintings waiting to happen.
La Finca is not fancy, but it is totally cool. It is a working mango farm and this is the Farm House. The four haciendas where we stay are nestled around a courtyard full of flowers. These haciendas have two to four bedrooms each, with their own kitchen and living area. They are actually like individual apartments or little houses. Wonderful Spanish tile and artwork from past visiting artists. The living area opens up to your own private patio with flowers and a quiet place to paint. More nooks and crannies to explore.
They are not fancy, but are quite comfortable and very charming.
We could probably stay here the entire time and find enough to paint, but we have been going out everyday to explore and paint the surrounding area. I wonder what today’s adventure will be?
Denis and Sally are the wonderful owners. They have the two qualities that I look for in workshop hosts – a wonderful sense of humor, and a willingness to make our time with them the best experience we’ve ever had! They are doing a bang up job so far.
And the food, you ask? The food they serve is authentic and delicious. It’s like visiting your relatives in Spain…who happen to be the best cooks you know. Delicious is all I can say. So far I haven’t seen a plate with food left on it. Not mine, for sure!
All in all, if you are a diva who needs the fine amenities of a city hotel, this may not be the place for you. But if you have the heart of a true artist, you will be in love!
Have to keep this short. We’re on our way out to a new little village, then back tonight for an Andalusian barbecue.
I will write again when I can.
Don’t forget to come back here on JUNE 1st for a gift from me!
