HAPPY NEW YEAR!
CH-CH-CH-Changes. Out with the old, in with the new and all of that. Change some little thing this year – a simple change can some-times make a big difference in your art / life. Are you game? Here’s what I’m talking about:

Come on 2019, let’s make a change! Scroll down to see the changes I made.

Wow! What a difference a little color makes…and it doesn’t even have to be color that really makes sense. A small change can make a big difference.
HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED HOW ART AND LIFE IMITATE EACH OTHER?
(Keep your eyes peeled this year and you’ll start to notice.)
Anyway, a simple change can sometimes make a big difference down the road. For the first time this year I’ve made a resolution, because this one seems to fit. You can borrow it if you like. I want to be better in 2019 than I was in 2018. I just want to make progress of some sort. Small changes will do me. At the end of the day, it’s all about progress. It might not seem like much at the time, but do it anyway. It will add up down the road. If only to make you feel better that you did something, anything.
I’m wishing you a wonderful 2019, healthy and full of happiness!
Thanks so much for reading. I’ve missed you!
Kathie xo
Happy 2019 Kathie! Just yesterday mentioned you in fb with a painting from your class in Raleigh.
Hope all is well. Like. Make a change in 2019!!!
Color always makes me HAPPY. Currently doing the “Stradaeasel challenge ” a plein air painting daily for 31 days. Having fun and challenged to make it to day 31!
Hi Celeste! It’s Soooo wonderful to hear from you. Good luck with that 31 day challenge. You can do it! (I know you).
Welcome back, Kathie! Love the batik!!
Yes, life gets pretty stagnant without change. And without change, there’s no progress. Your simple plan will give you powerful results.
Wishing you the very best for 2019 🙂
Hi Kathie!
I’ve missed you too! Your bubbly smile & quick wit & never ending inspiration to all of us! Love your post & the change you made! Right now many of us are brimming with creative ideas & need color in our lives during the middle of an unpredictable winter!
Good to hear from you & thanks for the inspiration & color! 💕
Mary Ann
Thanks Mary Ann, for you kind comments. Hope our paths cross again soon!
You are right on, Kathie. One step at a time. Little by little; as our Spanish friends say, Poco a poco. We are so blessed, privileged to live in this country. I begin with giving thanks for our beautiful America. Thanks for wonderful friends. Thanks for great inspiration from folks like you. Blessings throughout 2019 to you and your wonderful family.
Thank you so much Chris! Happy New Year to you.
Kits! I was just looking at photos of you in Rome on our very first trip. What a hoot!
Have a wonderful 2019 my friend.
Dear Sweet Kathie,
I can’t imagine you being any better than you already are, but go for it. We should all strive for progress and little everyday changes that make life better. I miss you and regret I didn’t get to see you in Florida in 2018.
I am beating the airports back at work and going somewhere different every week so all is good here. Hope our paths cross in 2019 but we are sisters by different misters so we are always in each other’s hearts.
Xoxo
SHY
Wow, SHY, impressive! We both made it thru, didn’t we? Let’s make this a great year, okay? Please keep in touch and you go get ’em girl!
Hi dear Kathie,
It is a treat to hear from you! We are doing well, and still in the same spot. Thinking of you and hoping the smiles keep coming. Always, Kathy
I love your “spot”. A little piece of heaven. Wish I were there. xoox
Happy 2019 Kathie! Your post is perfect! One little step leads to many😂
Hi Kathie, great to see you posting again. I have missed your wonderful sense of humor. Looking forward to little changes each day. Happy New Year. Grandmummy
Happy 2019 to you too Kathie. I love this time of year … 2019 is a blank page that we decide to color in our own individual way.
Creative good wishes.
I don’t know…. you’re pretty perfect just the way you are, little one. ❤️❤️❤️ I’m going to try to be more diligent about updating my website and make progress on my live drawings and also Plein air painting. Happy New Year to a great friend!!!
And I love the color in your painting!!!
So glad to hear from you I have missed your post. Happy New Year to you and your family.

Thank you Karen!
Welcome back tips on Tuesday. I agree that 2019 is a year for change. Going to try to paint more than once a week. (Which I have not done for 3 months ) and try new things. Can’t wait for August and France.
No worries. We will get you up to speed in France. No worries at all!
Surprise! You were in my mailbox. You have been missing!
Just signed up for workshop in Fredericksburg, so excited to paint with you again.
Really? Yahoooo. See you there!
Glad you are back with your Tuesday Tips!!!

Happy New Year. Looking forward to your class in Ocala.
Happy 2019 Kathie. So happy I will get to travel and paint with you this year. Glad to see the Tuesday Tips back again and I sure hope I can paint more than I did in 2018.
Elaine
Happy 2019! I hope i can make changes. I get in a rut so here goes… I’ll give ‘er a try.
Hi Elaine and Cindy…..hello!
Kathie you are always so inspiring. You know I love our work. Thanks to your great input and small changes in my life I am in another totally roam of painting. Keep that great outlook for 2019. Hope to see you somewhere near Birmingham, AL
Hello Chris and welcome to becoming one of our new GAEPs. Congrats!
So happy to see “TIPS” return. I’ll be working with you in Ocala next month, looking forward to it🌞
So happy to hear from you again! Happy New Year and I look for forward to your tips and inspiration. Hoping to be able to attend one of your workshops this coming year.
I hope to see you soon. (And maybe next year can get you into a trip)!
So glad to see you back! I’ve missed your e-mails–but understand that when we have health challenges, it’s difficult to keep all the balls in the air. I have been dealing with treatment for melanoma for the past 3 years–(so far, so good!)– but my art work erases all concerns, and is
a source of joy, thanks to your inspiration. Love doing watercolor batik, which is a departure from my oil pastel and/or colored pencil work. Keep posting, and be well, and Happy 2019!
I didn’t know about your health issues Sandy. Hang in there. It’s a tough road for sure. Paint your heart out and let me know if I can help.
What a great way to start 2019!!! Thank you for being such a great inspiration for me last year!!! New Year, new start, Survivor!
Congrats to us survivors! Proud of you.
It was such a wonderful surprise to see Tuesday’s Tips in my inbox!!! Happy 2019 to you too. I am going to try my best to follow your advise my wise one, and hope that someday after many, many changes I can be a little like you, many hugs
OMG Flori, you are an amazing artist! Guess where I might be going next year? sssshhhhh.
Good to have you back on Tuesday
Hi Kathie Happy New Year to you and your family. I will look forward to the new Tips on Tuesday; It will be
fun to have inspiration to start painting again. Color is my thing too, I try to have a bright patch of color in every room.
Is this really Maurice – or his better half? Paint away!
Happy 2019, I was so happy to see your post!! Little changes are the way to go, as the saying goes, you eat an elephant one bite at a time. Sometimes our art work seems to hard to finish but if we just work on a small portion at a time we will eventually look back and see we have finished the whole thing. All the best to you and your family, stay safe on your travels, and God bless.
Hi Christie. Thanks so much for commenting. Wise words.
Welcome back, Kathie and Tuesday Tips! I have missed your tidbits of inspiration! Love this batik! I’m trying to work on sketching this year! Want to document my travels with journals! Happy 2019 to you and looking forward to your work and changes! And soooo excited about March!!!
